In the wake of Mondays mass shootings at the Washington Navy Yard, where a military contractor armed with a 12-gauge shotgun killed 12 people before being shot dead himself, some gun advocates are raising objections about the policy that prohibits servicemen and civilians from arming themselves for protection on bases.
Rep. Louis Gohmert, R-Texas, told Newsmax he thinks servicemen should be able to carry their personal weapons on bases. "I'd be all for everybody keeping their sidearms if they're in the military and on a military installation," Gohmert said. "That's something we need to get back to."
John R. Lott, a leading gun rights advocate and the author of More Guns, Less Crime, told Yahoo News he believes the Pentagon has effectively disarmed servicemen and civilians on bases. He argues that military bases are gun-free zones ripe for mass shooting events, and he blames a 1993 executive order signed by Bill Clinton for the change.

He argues that military bases are gun-free zones ripe for mass shooting events, and he blames a 1993 executive order signed by Bill Clinton for the change.Which moronic Democratic dipsh!t Rhodes Scholar concocted the crackpot brainstorm that military bases are 'gun-free zones'.
What is the Fooking logic of that? Maybe, just maybe, some enlisted man armed with a rifle or a gun might have ameliorated the killing by getting to the guy a bit sooner.

It appears these mass killers only choose gun free targets. Is there any example where one has gone into a known armed group and begun shooting?? I don’t think so.
These killers may be crazy, but not that crazy!!

Plenty of logic to it if you are a moronic, Democratic, dipsh!t, Rhodes Scholar President who sometimes is in the company of military people whom he despises.
To: lbryce
Liberals would argue the opposite.
"After all, if the goal is to reduce gun violence," they would ask, "shouldn't our soldiers go into combat unarmed?"

I have to ask. Why did GWB not change BJC’s policy? I guess you could put a “Gun Free Zone” sign in your front yard. Then sit in the Lazy Boy in the dark and pick them off as as they crash through the window or the door they kick in and cull the wolf pack. Gun free zones are magnets for these cowards. The stupidity of the left is astounding.

Actually yes. They end quickly, in fact before they become mass shootings (defined as 4 or more murdered). Examples
here.

I’ve been meaning to post this for YEARS, ever since Ft. Hood. I was in the Corps from 7/81 thru 7/85. Long before that sub-human piece of filth clinton was put into the office by the sub-human filth we know as the American voter. We NEVER EVER EVER were allowed to be armed on base. The ONLY times I ever touched a loaded weapon base (Camp Lejeune and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard) were on the rifle range, or twice a year at LeJeune when I was on guard duty. Guns were FORBIDDEN at base housing at BOTH LeJeune and Portsmouth, EVEN THOUGH BASE HOUSING WAS “OFF BASE”! If you had a gun, it had to be stored at the armory on base.
To: lbryce
BTW the reason the demscum disarm soldiers on base is because they are mostly from the 60s Vietnam anti-war crowd and consider soldiers all to be “baby killers.” (Oh, the irony.) Worse, soldiers have sworn an oath to defend the Constitutioon and take it seriously. Therefore soldiers are expendable and in fact deserve to die. No /sarc
“Soldier” above means “service member.”
IOW Dems are scum.
