I hear you on the history of Marin. Yuppification has made it rather bizarre indeed.
Picture an Obama...All Fired Up and Ready to GO Campaign poster in a second story window.....with Gold Leaf trim and all...on Shady Lane in nearby Ross.
Presently I’m in San Anselmo, although Ive lived In San Rafael. Fairfax and Mill Valley..this all since 1979.
I live close enough to the fire trails to be out of town and Up In The Hills..in less than fifteen minutes.
there are allegedly MORE cults in Marin than anywhere else in the Nation at this point.btw

If your in San Anselmo, I used to lease a great hilltop house overlooking SA/ Ross/ Mt. Tam when I was doing the college thing. It was at the very top/end of Sequoia Rd right next to the water tower... GREAT times and the best view in Marin that didn't have a Bay/Ocean theme.
