The military was dealing with massive cuts before the Sequester, and that was the final knife across the throat.

When we have a C-in-C that uses it when he souldn't, and doesn't when he should, I don't see it making much difference in the short run.

ok well one of the articles talks about standing down after returning from military overseas deployments.............and they should stand down, same as after any war, you gin them up, deploy them, bring them home, you wind them down, my former reserve unit got deployed to Desert Storm on active duty, (I was out by this time) came back home and went back to reserve duty, is this “hollowed out”? no

government is supposed to be on a thin budget, that’s how it always was, now government is sucking all the good stuff and the rest of us are on thin budgets, so, no, I think the sequestration was a huge plus

Google is at your fingertips to discover any facts or expert analysis of what Sequestration (and the previous deep cuts of $330 Billion in 2009 and $487 Billion in 2011) have done to hollow out and gut our military.

Defund, delay, repeal. Do them all.

We put in a provision to dealy all aspects of the bill for a year, defund accordingly (as no funds would be needed for implementation this year if everything is delayed), and then run hard to take the Senate in 2014, at which point, you present a repeal and a defunding in a must-pass, must-sign bill and see what Caliph Hussein does.

Why not have the true Republicans request a BINDING, updated, “Federal Financial Impact Statement” for 2012-2013 for Obama”care?”

It should take a month or two to complete, allow for a vote to delay Obama”care” for a year, and then show the great financial harm to our Economy that the Statement’s numbers will document.

Wharton, Stanford, Michigan and Princeton could also file their independent Financial Impact Statements to compare to the Office of Budget and the Congressional Budget Office Financial Impact Statements.

The 2.3% Medical Excise Tax that began on January 1st is supposed to be “hidden” from the consumer, but it’s been brought to the public’s attention by hunting and fishing store Cabela’s who have refused to hide it and are showing it as a separate line item tax on their receipts, the email states.

I did some research and found directly from the IRS’s website information that PROVES this to be true and an accurate portrayal of something hidden in Obamacare that I was not aware of! Now being skeptical of this I went to the IRS website and found this!

Q1. What is the medical device excise tax?

A1. Section 4191 of the Internal Revenue Code imposes an excise tax on the sale of certain medical devices by the manufacturer or importer of the device.

Q2. When does the tax go into effect?

A2. The tax applies to sales of taxable medical devices after Dec. 31, 2012.

Q3. How much is the tax?

A3. The tax is 2.3 percent of the sale price of the taxable medical device. See Chapter 5 of IRS Publication 510, Excise Taxes, and Notice 2012-77 for additional information on the determination of sale price.

So being more curious I clicked on “Chapter 5

And what do I find under “MEDICAL DEVICES” under “MANUFACTURERS TAXES”?

Bows, quivers, broadheads, and points;

Arrow shafts;

Coal;

Taxable tires;

I NEVER KNEW THAT A TIRE IS A MEDICAL DEVICE.

IRS.gov I think we have definitely been fooled, if we believe that the Affordable Care Act is all about health care. It Truly does appear to be nothing more than a bill Laden with a whole lot of taxes that we the people have yet to be aware of.
