In the year since the Benghazi terrorist attack took the lives of four Americans, House Republicans have continually pressed the Obama administration for answers regarding events preceding the attack, the administration’s response, and what has been done to protect the lives of Americans going forward. Those efforts will continue with three House committee hearings this week. Here’s more:
The House Foreign Affairs Committee holds a hearing Wednesday, September 18th at 10 am ET titled: “Benghazi: Where is the State Department Accountability?” The committee notes that four employees placed on administration leave following the attack have recently been re-assigned within the department. This hearing “will examine why no one inside the State Department has yet been held accountable for the failures and deficiencies identified” in the Benghazi Accountability Review Board’s report. [TUNE IN HERE ] The House Oversight & Government Reform Committee holds a hearing Thursday, September 19th at 9:30 am ET with Benghazi Accountability Review Board co-chairs Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering and Admiral Michael G. Mullen, USN (Ret.), members of the Department’s security panel that conducted a review, and family members of those killed in the attack. The hearing will focus on the review board’s investigation and questions that still remain regarding the attack and the administration’s response. [TUNE IN HERE] The House Armed Services Committee will hold a hearing Thursday, September 19th at 3:30 pm ET on lessons from Benghazi and the Defense Department’s ability to respond to similar attacks today. Earlier this year, House Republicans released an interim report on Benghazi outlining the findings of five committees of jurisdiction investigating the attacks, and laying out next steps – including additional hearings and an ongoing effort to obtain access to witnesses and information being withheld by the Obama administration. “It is disgraceful that one year later, even though a number of the terrorists who participated in this attack have been identified, not a single one has been brought to justice, Speaker Boehner said last week, pledging that Republicans “will press forward with our investigation until we have answers, full accountability, and justice.”

Another amazing situation here is that you have a full ADM making excuses for Hill not knowing what was going on when, in the Naval service, the guy at the top is ALWAYS ultimately responsible if anything goes wrong...it’s always the case. Gowdy went after that line but could’ve nailed Mullen more if he had brought up that aspect, to my mind.

Interestingly, Speiers is getting Ty Woods interpretation of “smoke and mirrors”. Don’t think that’s what the ‘Rat was looking for.

To me the story of the day is the fact that Mullen briefed Cheryl Mills about the testimonial ability of a key fact witness. He also stated that the report was given to the State Department for review before it was released to Congress and the public. This eliminates any level of credibility of the ARB and lends itself more to their complicity in the cover up.
You’re right. Why they didn’t have the families on first is beyond me. It helps show how “What difference does it make” is a despicable comment.

Charles Woods, father of Tyrone Woods, said he thought Barack Obama had ‘no remorse’ over the attack and felt Hillary Clinton was ‘not telling the truth’.
And he revealed that at the ceremony for the return of Tyrone’s body, the Vice President approached his family and asked, ‘Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?’
Mr Woods added that the President seemed cold and distant at the time, saying: ‘Shaking hands with him, quite frankly, was like shaking hands with a dead fish.’
