Aaron Alexis, the 34-year-old suspect in Monday's shooting rampage at the Washington Navy Yard, had "secret" clearance and was assigned to start working there as a civilian contractor with a military-issued ID card, his firm's CEO told Reuters.
"He did have a secret clearance. And he did have a CAC (common access card)," said Thomas Hoshko, CEO of "The Experts," which was helping service the Navy, Marine Corps intranet as a subcontractor for a Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Services contract.

Have you noticed how often a setback for the gun grabbers is quickly followed by some horrific event like this?
I pegged this guy as a DOD contractor the moment I saw his traveling and background in the military. Aviation Electronics is in high demand and there is a company in the Dallas area that heavily recruits these guys. My best friend works there and is constantly traveling on projects for weeks or months working TS projects.
Im surprised this guy has a facebook or any social media. That can get you fired instantly and it’s not uncommon to see people pulled right off of a job for it.
The TS process is no joke. The State Dept shows up in my life from time to time with their questions. It’s not a bad process just wierd to some of my neighbors. Having a negligent discharge of a weapon is not grounds to prevent a TS. Crimes or moral turpitude like theft are.
Im going to call my friend tonight and ask if he knew or worked with this guy.
She’s an odd duck. Doesn’t seem like the type to enjoy public relations.
The monks at the local Buddhist temple took him under their wing.
Tooooo bizarre.
I doubt it. Dishonorables are what someone like Bradley Manning get after a court martial. Almost certainly he received a General (Under Honorable Conditions) which they give to misfits, deadwood, undesirables, personality problems, minor civilian trouble and etc.
They sure are working hard to muddy the waters. Sure sign of nefarious details they want to hide.
That wasn’t true in my day. Even a confidential was no easy thing.

MMk, “no one thought to check his criminal record”?

Despite the circumstances surrounding his discharge, Alexis apparently was issued a government contractor access card that would have allowed him into the Navy Yard and other military installations, said Thomas Hoshko, chief executive of the Experts. Alexiss security clearance was updated in July and he was scheduled to begin work at the Navy Yard this month.
There had to be a thorough investigation, Hoshko said. There is nothing that came up in all the searches.
If you or I had that background, do you think they’d be selling us firearms?
Agree re: your comment about the lesbo factor.
Anyone know how Chief Lanier got all that slad on her right side? Looked like military ribbons to me.
IF the media reports on the mans history are true he had no business with a clearence or even being on a military base period.
No mention that he looks like a SoB.
Your dismay is understandable. But as to how this guy breezed through the system — take a look at his picture.
somethings not quite TRANSPARENT about the way any of this was handled.
was this puke GROOMED from the INSIDE...[ perhaps by THE REGIME] for this task I have to wonder.
I smell something rotten in the 1600 Block of Pennsyvania Avenue
If Obama had a son....
he LOOKS for all the world like the MANCHURIAN IT GUY!!
Too many contradictions. Too many questions at this time. They MAY or may not be answered in my lifetime’ But as I wrote, it is an itch I can’t scratch.
By the way, we do not know if the weapons were his or borrowed or stolen or what.
Good point. Years ago before 911, my sis dated this brilliant Hindu tech man who worked for a gov. intel contractor and they even investigated my family during his security clearance. This whole story stinks!!
