I did it just last week. Three times. I showed a driver’s license entering a major United States Army post and was told to move on and have a nice day.

Doesn’t mean it’s SOP, but it does happen.

Agreed. Everyone aware of Ft. Meade, where the trial just was for our homosexual traitor Manning?

I have driven onto that base many times, albeit it’s been many years. Once to meet a guy for a date from the firehouse ther, a couple times to check out the older graveyards on site, and another for court for speed violation nearby. Also had big picnic on base set up by my employer for young employees’ group. None of this involved much of any checks.

As for the Navy Yard, they are not a shipyard, anymore. Mostly just bureaucracy there. Even a nice small museum for the public that I still haven’t gone to yet. In many ways, NY would have less defense than Ft. Meade.
