I lived in NoVa for a few years. And while not uncommon, the local political antics across the river were big entertainment for us back then.
Somehow it's not quite as funny applied nationally. d:^|
I would agree...having lived almost four years in Arlington. Marion Barry is supported by roughly sixty percent of the population of the city of DC. Today? He’s probably drug-clean, and fairly careful about illegal corrupt practices (he’s had thirty years to learn his lessons).
But you can note that almost monthly....Barry still says a couple of really stupid things, and riles up the members of the city council. He could run for mayor....but why mess up a good clean game like council member? He got into trouble two years ago....sadly...for having expired tags on his car. That was the only thing I can note over the past couple of years to get him into trouble with the cops.
I think the bulk of society would be willing to elect Hulk Hogan as president...if you could by-pass the primary system, and the fifty different requirements for getting onto state ballots. That really says a lot about our society.
