Why should he negotiate when the spineless “Republicans” always bend over for him to have his way with them? Ditto for all the leading dems... why should Reid and Pelosi ever give an inch when the repubs reflexively give away the ranch? They know there's no courage in the ranks of senior GOPers, so they just plant their feet and bide their time. Doesn't take much at all to frighten a repub into surrender.
