The US has a strategic disaster and an inept President. The Iranians have secure forward bases in Syria for their mobile short range ballistic missiles. Israel cannot attack Iran’s nuclear facilities without suffering a devastating counterattack. Unless the US itself attacks ( very unlikely) Iran will have its nuclear weapons within a year.

“Obama boasted that his willingness to shift positions and create foreign policy on the fly demonstrates that he is “less concerned about style points” and “more concerned about getting the policy right.”

You know what? We haven’t had many butch-gay presidents with a queer eye for foreign policy.

Obama said his threat of military action had spurred the Russian-brokered deal that would have Syria give up its chemical weapons.

“My view is that if you have both a credible threat of force, combined with a rigorous diplomatic effort, that, in fact, you can you can strike a deal,” Obama said.

Right! Obama has so intimidated the world. Credible? Not really.

So what is Obama's Red Line? "If Iran uses a nuclear weapon against Israel, we'll be forced to appealing to the UN for further sanctions and consider writing up some legislation for congress to pass to authorize the potential use of force along with our potential international coalition of allies."

I smell smoke.

It doesn’t count unless he ‘really really’ means it. One ‘really’ isn’t enough... you remember 4th grade, right?

Well, at least he’s finally found the country that is actually threatening us

(Winston Churchill was attributed the observation that America can be counted on to do the right thing, once it had run through all the other alternatives...)

we will see...

"My suspicion is that the Iranians recognize they shouldn’t draw a lesson that we haven’t struck [Syria] to think we won’t strike Iran," Obama said in an interview aired on ABC’s "This Week."

Meanwhile Obama and the aging 1960s campus radical, spoiled brats and their ideological issue like Obama continue to hollow out the U.S. military..

based on the award-winning 1992 "The Origins of the American Military Coup of 2012" I submit "The Origins of the American Military Coup of 2016."

The rules-of-engagement and PC restrictions caused virtual disasters in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then years of Obama Administration hollowing-out included less and less emphasis on combat. The military "perceived themselves as policemen, relief workers, educators, builders, health care providers, politicians--everything but war-fighters."

Nuclear-armed Iran reacted with open aggression in late 2015. American military personnel thought to be the best prepared were cobbled together into combat units and rushed to the area.

Ill-equipped, lacking skills lost to years of virtually no training, and facing "a military which had not forgotten what militaries were supposed to do or what war is really all about" the ill-equipped and poorly trained U.S. troops were forced to withdraw.

Fortunately because of the Obama hollowing-out and the resultant money-saving consolidation of the armed forces, military power was concentrated in fewer hands than ever before. The rest was easy . . . .
