In a kindergarten class, Obama would get near unanimous agreement with his efforts. But that's why all societies in history have had a clear, inflexible distinction between adult status and child status.
No one opposes efforts to fight eliminate or reduce economic inequality. Just the means of reducing or eliminating it.
Certainly, most adults should agree that it is wrong, both that the "wealthy" treat the poor literally as slaves, or that poor treat the "wealthy" literally as slaves, if in neither case the slave has no say in the matter.
Substitute "worker with a real (non government) job" for "wealthy," and "economic indolent parasite" for "poor" and the same moral and ethical truism holds.
The primary difference between liberals and conservatives, this really boils it down to a nutshell:
Conservatives believe in equality of opportunity.
Liberals believe in equality of outcome.
