Putin hits a nerve with jibe at U.S. belief in its special status

As if it didn’t have enough problems on its hands, the U.S. now finds itself in a debate over one of the unchallenged notions of U.S. national consciousness. The argument was set off by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who clearly knows what buttons to press to quickly get Americans riled up. Button number one is American “exceptionalism, the notion that the U.S., based on its values and history, occupies a unique place in the world.

Putin has a point. We’re not so special anymore. Just another socialist welfare state.

Remember, too, that Russia has tried to warn the U.S. away from this path several times since 2008.

It’s touchy because “our own” president says we’re *not* exceptional.

I firmly believe in the Judeo-Christian ethic that God placed in humanity and that the Jews and the Americans have been exceptional in that sense. But the religious currents which guided that process have been undermined at every turn to the point that we no longer understand ourselves in those terms. We seem lost as societies.

“Forward” from what we had....

Interesting point! Putie is a smart man. He knows this countries’ history...meaning he also knows how much they suckered us in the Cold War! I think there are 2 things driving him in all of this...his ego wants him to play Obumbles, which is way easier than he may have expected, and contempt for amateurs and maybe even a little racism in there too. He knows Obumbles is temporary but the Washingtom military machine is not. Look to him to make a big play in the near future.

Yep. He's laughing at the US, right in its face. He's laughing because he knows the Soviet Union's plan of communist infiltration during the past 80 years paid off more than anybody ever would have believed. Diana West's new book about Stalin's long-range plan is a masterpiece.

Think about it: Hillary is the Democrat anointed nominee for President. No ifs ands or buts.

Heh... You really think the Chicago mob is going to turn over the White House to the Clintons that easily? They got it and they aim to keep it. Remember how nervous people were about what the Clintons could do with 1,000 purloined FBI files? Now imagine what the descendants of Capone can do with the NSA data base.

Thanks, Vlad. Now that we’re nothing special, we don’t have to provide $$aide$$ to the entire planet.

OK, let’s stay on this train of thought: does Putin wish to see Hillary as US prez?

He may have a dilemma here: on the one hand Putin can read Hillary like a book through her record as FLOTUS then as US senator then as SecyState. He’s KGB & has the instincts to estimate the character & intentions of just about anyone. No doubt he has a very thick Hillary file somewhere.

Putin’s probably already figured out how to play Hillary like a cheap fiddle. He knows she has no moral compass & only cares about her own power & prestige. And as noted, Putin is extremely intelligent & like him or not, has a record of achievements inside Russia that is formidable if not always admirable.

What does Putin know about the Republican candidate? Nothing, obviously; neither he nor anyone else knows who that will be. But Putin can assume that a Republican will run against Obama’s record & hang that around Hillary’s neck and will be especially harsh on Obama’s world apology tours & the rest of our foreign policy where it looks like we are giving away the store in a futile effort to be `liked’. And for much of that time, Hillary was Obama’s cat’s paw. If a Republican does become President, Putin can just imagine the new prez announcing to the world, “No more Mister Nice Guy!”

Conclusion: I may have answered my own question. It’s not necessarily to Putin’s advantage to beat up Obama so badly that Obama becomes a serious liability to the Hillary campaign.

Meanwhile we should always remember the old Cold War adage: Americans play checkers while the Russians play chess.

Real question: If not Hillary, then who?

Real question: If not Hillary, then who?

Rahm? Michelle? Holder?
Somebody else who is owned by the Chicago mob?

Believe me, the Chicago mob has no intention of voluntarily just handing over the White House to somebody they don't own.

Actually Putie pu was just repeating what we had already been lectured to by fearless leader. And less than five years into his presidency he has brought that plot to fruition!!!
