Organized labor was one of the Obama administration's most important allies during the passage of the Affordable Care Act. But more recently, some unions have been among the law's loudest critics.
A particular issue of contention has been so-called "Taft-Hartley plans" -- multi-employer health-care plans that unions run, and that aren't eligible for subsidies under the terms of the Affordable Care Act. The plans cover about 20 million Americans, and the government treats them as employer-based health-care plans for tax purposes.
A recent letter signed by the powerful Teamster, UNITE-HERE, and UFCW unions warned that "under the ACA as interpreted by the Administration, our employees will treated differently and not be eligible for subsidies afforded other citizens. As such, many employees will be relegated to second-class status and shut out of the help the law offers to for-profit insurance plans." The unions argue this will decimate membership in their plans as employers dump union workers onto public exchanges.

Congress gets subsidies. Since the SC ruled it a tax wouldn’t it be illegal for the government to subsidize the tax payment for some but not for all?
We live in a lawless land, so I stopped reading.
Or, to put it more precisely, a land of selective law administration. Laws for thee, but not for me.
In plain english:
“Thanks suckers for doing my dirty work but I’m going to f you like everyone else”.
The unions were to stupid to even know what a liar they were dealing with so suck it up and explain it to your members.
Could not happen to a more deserving group.
I love it when someone gets a taste of their own medicine.
Suck it up, Princesses.
My guess is that Hart-Taftley plans give union workers special rights that are not conveyed upon the others. Otherwise, why would they be treated differently? The democratic congress and president who passed this law don’t like unions? Don’t think so.
Crying towel futures are skyrocketing!!
They voted for him, they voted for this. Choke on it.
If you give the Devil a ride, he sure as Hell is gonna want to drive.
Get in the passenger seat, fools. And keep a tight a$$, you’re gonna get screwed ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
As I told a couple of ObamaBots I know. When your wife or kid can’t get needed health care, I will rub your nose in it and give you NO sympathy. You asked for it, eat it.
And they will vote for the next Dem (Hillary) in 2016 like good, lock-step lemmings.
Don’t gloat just yet.
The unions made too big a public thing out of their meeting.
That is not the way the obumbler crowd works. All of that noise in public spooks them.
Some union guys will go to the White House for a private meeting and come out with a deal, an executive order, probably one that will be secret for months.
This is some of that flexability that Obama was talking about. Now he can even screw his supporters and there isn’t a thing they can do about it.
All communists eventually “weed out” their supporters leaving only the small elite to serve the Great Leader ... all the rest are throw-aways.
Kabuki theater:
The unions got billions to set up exchanges, now they’re putting on a show for their members who get screwed- as usual.
BS sells.
