Pelosi Statement on the Nomination of Congresswoman Barbara Lee as Representative to the United Nations September 11, 2013
Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement in response to the nomination of Congresswoman Barbara Lee as U.S. Representative to the 68th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. Leader Pelosi recommended Congresswoman Lee for this position.
“In recommending Congresswoman Barbara Lee to represent the Democratic Caucus at the United Nations, I knew she would be a strong, resolute, and unwavering voice for peace in a world burdened by war. That is why I am so pleased that President Obama nominated her this week.
“A passionate advocate for the people of California’s 13th district, Congresswoman Lee has spent each day in Congress working tirelessly to combat poverty, end hunger, and eradicate the scourge of HIV/AIDS that afflicts millions across the globe. Her leadership in passing the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and her steadfast dedication to diplomacy and international cooperation has made her a renowned global leader who will always ensure that the voices of every American are heard in Washington and on the world stage.
“At a time when the international community faces such daunting and dangerous challenges, we are fortunate to have the strong and steady guidance of Congresswoman Barbara Lee. Good grief! Then again it is the UN, one of the most anti-American organization on the planet. Lee would fit right in there.
Not really that bizarre. She’s not going to be the UN Ambassador, just the House of Reps Democrat Caucus’ rep to the General Assembly session.

Why not just nominate Sheila Jackson Lee, and convince the world we are complete idiots?
