It's supposed to be a week of celebration, a time where NASCAR's best drivers prepare for the 10 most important races of the year.
Instead of focusing on the opening Chase for the Sprint Cup event Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway, however, the attention this past week has not been on the playoff chances of Dale Earnhardt Jr. or whether Jimmie Johnson can win a sixth title.
"The integrity is intact and I wouldnt question it going forward"-Dale Earnhardt Jr.
The sport has instead been entangled with teams blatantly fixing races, forcing NASCAR to respond by leveling record fines and even going as far to boot a driver of the Chase. Even with Chicago just days away, the madness is not over as officials continue to investigate whether Penske Racing brokered a deal with another team to benefit Joey Logano's entry into the playoffs.

And, now NASCAR has changed the rules (again) by allowing a 13th wild card spot. (Jeff ‘Flash’ Gordon)
what integrity?
Too little too late.. Most folks have already seen the NASCAR management for the bobos they are..
I, for one, have other plans for the Chase.. Like napping and cleaning my ears and stuff..
NASCAR Statement:
Helton and France announce that Jeff Gordon will be joining the Chase as the 13th driver
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2013) Following a comprehensive review of all
available audio and video communications from last Saturday nights NASCAR Sprint Cup
Series race at Richmond International Raceway, along with interviews with team personnel,
NASCAR announced Friday the following decision:
· Both the Front Row Motorsports and Penske Racing organizations have been placed
on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31 for violating Section 12-1 (Actions detrimental
to stock car racing).
· A 13th car the No. 24 would be added to this years Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Based on all of our findings this week, we determined both Front Row Motorsports and Penske
Racing organizations would be placed on probation for the remainder of this season,
said Brian France, NASCAR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, based
upon the totality of our findings, to be fair and equitable we decided that adding a 13th
car to this years Chase is the appropriate action.
Beginning with our decision Monday, which resulted in an unprecedented team penalty, and
continuing with further examination of actions involving two other race teams, it is clear
to us that attempts to manipulate the results impacted the Chase field.
The integrity of our sport remains the cornerstone of NASCAR, and our actions this week speak
to our commitment to ensure a level playing field for all competitors.
Additionally, NASCAR will conduct a mandatory meeting with drivers, owners, crew chiefs
and other team personnel tomorrow to address this issue moving forward.
On to the next issue..
If anybody needs restrictor mlates, its the FRance family
Don't forget that we got this idiot format because Matt Kenseth, a great driver who unfortunately does not have a high Q score like Junior, Jeff, or Princess Sunshine do, won the cup.
My solution would be to go back to all 36 races counting equally, but give the winner a 100 point bonus over second place, and no points for anything below 25th or so. Fat chance it will ever happen.
mlates=plates :-}
They should rank drivers by how cute their babies are.. they’re coming out of the woodwork the last few years..
This chase thing is a dumb idea. plain and simple..
Disney Racing or what.. ??
NASCAR to teams: Always give 100 percent

The rule book is gonna be as big as the IRS tax code...
New rule,, ya need a permission slip from your Mom to pass in a corner.
and the fat girls can’t blow up the tires anymore
Hey,, you mean the ‘gravitationally challenged’ gals.
Let’s keep it PC, everything else is these days. ;-]
not PC....laptop
Yep, NICECAR had a golden opportunity here...too bad.
...but this often happens when big $$$ becomes more important than the sport itself. Those big $$$'s came with TV contracts(recently signed NBC $4.4B)...and we all know THOSE network executives have only the best interest of this(southern/conservative base)sport in mind...
(...and Gordon Gekko loves Blue Star Airlines)
I guess it’s too late to change my drivers? again
PLEASE!!! I ‘m overwhelmed with the swift response from y’all
everyone’s snappin beans and pickin okra
