Fox News anchor Shepard Smith is leaving his 7 p.m. ET timeslot to take on a larger role heading up the network’s new breaking news division.
Beginning this fall, the new division, with Smith as the main anchor and its managing editor, will have the capability to break into any Fox News programming, daytime or primetime, with the latest reporting, network spokeswoman Ashley Nerz told TheBlaze.

Makes perfect sense. Shep loses audience from the Bret Baier 6 pm news program. They’ll put Hannity there to get the numbers up huge. That will lead into OReilly. He’ll hand off to Kelly, and we’ll see if she’s as good as claimed.
She’s ok in an airheady-serious kind of way. Hannity, though, kept O’Reilly’s audience.

Interesting that the Fox Report brand is going away. What will happen to Harris Faulker on that weekend show then?
Can’t really call if Fox Report Weekend if there’s no Fox Report during the week.

Yeah, “premier journalist”. I never, ever had heard of him before he came to Fox News. I never, ever watch him, can’t stand him. When I first began watching FNC, I was just testing who was on there, and my hubby came up the stairs just as Shep was on. His immediate question was, “who’s the Ken doll”?

Fox Report was some kind of nexus between news and entertainment. Smith is a good presenter but not a personality...not really interesting at all. Personalities win later evening news.
I guess they can call the weekend version “Fox Report” and dispense with the weekend tag.
To be honest with you, I don’t really care for their weekend lineup at all. There’s not one personality I find appealing. Stoessel whines. Huckabee oozes. Rivera shrills. Wallace is a recast of his dead dad. Janine is sort of ok...she can stay.
I’d prefer they bring back Napolitano in some form. I always liked John Scott.

I never could understand how he rated two shows every day! I always turned him off. Glad I got rid of cable a few weeks ago. Won’t have to see or hear him (or the bloviator) ever again.
