OK, now I’ve read and re-read the thread several times, to see if I missed something crucial. I didn’t. A couple of guys made some tongue in cheek references to stereotypical female behavior early on, and you challenged them.
I weighed in thinking it was a generic question, since it wasn’t a private reply from you. Unless you just wanted to publicly excoriate those who you deem as sexist and misogynist, I don’t see why you wouldn’t keep it private (and not subject to public viewing and response).
One great thing about Free Republic is the ability to speak freely and crack wise without worrying about the PC Thought Police coming down hard on those who wander outside of narrowly defined speech acceptability. No one attacked you personally, and yet you took it upon yourself to start “correcting” those in your gun sights.
Have you listened to radio or watched TV in the last several decades? Every time they need to lampoon someone, that foil is always a middle aged white male. Every other group is strictly off limits. The only exception I can think of was the Metro PCS commercials, where Indian males were satired.
So, as a group, white males are expected to suck it up and laugh at themselves. And we do. Every single day.
Why shouldn’t women, in the name true equality, be allowed to do the same thing?
