MOSCOW RECENT events surrounding Syria have prompted me to speak directly to the American people and their political leaders. It is important to do so at a time of insufficient communication between our societies.
Relations between us have passed through different stages. We stood against each other during the cold war. But we were also allies once, and defeated the Nazis together. The universal international organization the United Nations was then established to prevent such devastation from ever happening again.
The United Nations founders understood that decisions affecting war and peace should happen only by consensus, and with Americas consent the veto by Security Council permanent members was enshrined in the United Nations Charter. The profound wisdom of this has underpinned the stability of international relations for decades.

Not only has this POS ( I am referring to Putin), outperformed and clearly beaten the US, now he's engaging in classic PRAVDA propaganda backup to his policies.
He is on a roll and why shouldn't he be? He KO’d Obama, 30 seconds into Round One.
Now comes the direct appeal to the American people...to hell with you Putin and when you descend down to Hades, take the POTUS with you.
Putin floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee.
I see it now. Obama on Russian TV; My fellow Comrades....
International politics makes for some strange positions. obamber arguing for American exeptionalism ?
Anyway, thats where vlady lost me.
If only we had a leader.
That said, don't think for a minute that you can now be "king" of America. Try to step into that role and the still exceptional, free, American people will give your cute little chest a titty twister to remember. Thanks again. And have a nice day.
"This internal conflict, fueled by foreign weapons supplied to the opposition, is one of the bloodiest in the world."
Putin is pointing the finger at the United States under the Obama Syndicate. The conflict in Syria is being fueled by U.S. supplied weapons. This is the area of illicit arms trafficking. It is this type of covert action that has set world opinion against the United States. There has been a move to curb the proliferation of military-style small arms to insurgent forces and other non-state actors. On 2 April 2013, the General Assembly adopted the landmark Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) to address the following:
"the international trade in conventional arms, from small arms to battle tanks, combat aircraft and warships. The treaty will foster peace and security by putting a stop to destabilising arms flows to conflict regions. It will prevent human rights abusers and violators of the law of war from being supplied with arms. And it will help keep warlords, pirates, and gangs from acquiring these deadly tools."
This is why Putin states,
"We need to use the United Nations Security Council and believe that preserving law and order in todays complex and turbulent world is one of the few ways to keep international relations from sliding into chaos. The law is still the law, and we must follow it whether we like it or not. Under current international law, force is permitted only in self-defense or by the decision of the Security Council. Anything else is unacceptable under the United Nations Charter and would constitute an act of aggression."
I believe under the definition of "force" comes the idea of weapons proliferation. It is the heart of Fast and Furious, the Benghazi scandal and its coverup. It is this action by the Obama Syndicate that is out of step with UN law and it could wind up blowing up in Zer0's face.
" There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lords blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal."
I believe Vladimir Putin means to do good. I know he believes in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His father was a communist and atheist, but his mother was a devoted Russian Orthodox Christian. She had Vladimir baptized as an infant, and he attended church with her often. He attends church on a regular basis. Contrast this with the Obama family who rarely attend church.
I'm sure that Putin still misunderstands some things about the heart of American traditional beliefs.
However, it was a very mature and constructive communication.
Points made about who's who in terrorism are probably the most important part. It give credence to the Russian attempt to warn the US about the Boston bombers.
Not trashing Obama allows the American left to listen.
I see less posturing here than in nearly all American politicians, today.
Also, did he take a shot at Obama or America when he said this:
And I would rather disagree with a case he made on American exceptionalism, stating that the United States policy is what makes America different. Its what makes us exceptional. It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation. There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lords blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal.
Far be it from me to think that Obama considers America "great"...on the contrary, I believe Obama hates the Constitution, Christianity and capitalism.
What makes America great are those three things, not in that order.
Putin is wrong to think America is not exceptional...we are. Obama is wrong because he says we are exceptional, because he says this only to stroke his ego.
I agree with most of what you say...
Syria is Brer Zer0's Tar Baby . . .
The more Brer Zer0 pokes away at the Tar Baby, the more he will get stuck to it.
I reserve the right to oppose both Obama and Putin.
Yes, Putin misunderstands what American exceptionalism is, and Obama is the epitome of that arrogance and self righteousness.
Putin may think Obama is representative of America, God help us.
His OP-Ed wouldn’t get his picture in Times Square, let alone right next to Lincoln.
Well, why not? They’re both on the same team.
If only we had a leader.
We're the leadership there actually is. If you're waiting for something more charismatic, you're probably going to be disappointed.
Maybe Putin thinks Obama isn’t exceptional. I would agree with that.
He sure ain’t American.
