I still remember repeating to myself as I watched the towers fall, “All those people, the people, the people....”
We were told before that that 30,000 people worked in the complex.
It is appalling that our current allies were so happy 12 years ago to see the towers fall.
We are so easily duped.
I remember that Al Jazeera was elated after 9-11 (some of my friends got it via satellite in Arabic).
Now they’re all over our cable providers.
Yes... like so many others, I was at home and watched the entire horrific day unfold live on TV. My husband was locked away in some meeting (fortunately not in NYC where he sometimes used to work), but my mother and I were constantly on the phone, crying to each other in disbelief.
In no way am I comparing my experience simply watching TV to the experiences of actual 9/11/01 victims, but I had a lot of trouble sleeping for six months afterward...
