Today of all days it’s easy to wonder if an ordinary snafu is something different, isn’t it?

You have to wonder how electricity can stop a train. She’s going to Uber back to DC.

Heck, when I worked in NYC in the mid-70s thru mid-80s, we had power outages all the time; Conrail and Amtrak would stop dead inside tunnels or wherever. Heavy rain, snow or overheated summer days would do it. A couple times, the whole damned city went down for a few hours. Our power grids are 1960s era, with band-aids and patches and no real infrastructure improvements.
