LOL! Cut and Run or stay and lick obamas boots? If Texas does this, it will be to maintain what little is left of a Constitutional Republic. The traitors are the ones who accept tyranny.
We ARE The Republic of Texas, after all.
Did the founding fathers cut and run from the British Empire in 1776? Sometimes, if your fellow compatriots are dragging you down, you have to cut loose and leave them to the consequences of their folly.
My US Rep recently held a fundraiser for the newest Bushie, I wasn't happy at all and let him know.
Horse manure.
It is smart of Texas to recognize that America is a nation in decline and there’s no going back.
The former “America” is now nothing more than a land mass populated by moochers, ingrates, and parasites who have absolutely no respect for the military and who vote for big government to confiscate money from their neighbors so that it may be redistributed to them in exchange for their votes. It is not an America worth defending anymore. That America no longer exists.
The Democrats have won.
Good men will hunker down, stay under the radar, protect their families, and hide and protect whatever they can from the government and its parasitic hordes. Good men will rise above the disgrace that surrounds them and live their lives productively for the benefit of their families and their children. Good men will continue to love and laugh and have some fun.
Good for Texas to get ahead of the curve. “If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.”
If this happens, I’m outta here. Texas or Bust!
The only problem I see with secession, should there be total collapse in the other 49 states, is the influx of more carpetbaggers. Everyone and his brother will be flocking to Texas and we do not want them.
How do we secure the borders with Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma? Never mind the Mexico border. Mexicans will run from Texas should secession come to pass.
The other, best thing about possible secession is that we have our own electrical grid.
So you’d rather have 50 states in servitude than seeing at least one of the States (Texas) to be free?
Enough talk. Let’s get on with it.
We left Texas eight years ago due mainly to the steady, overwhelming influx of illegals. We may need to think about going back. Here in MO the Dems have a stronghold in the north part of the state. Here in the southwest portion it is very conservative. Not too sure what direction MO would go.
I guess we could get back in! I am sixth generation Texan, born in Waco. Hope my citizenship is still valid.
Texas will turn blue before it becomes an independent nation. Two or three more election cycles should do it I think.
No kidding. And explain to our parasites that now might be the time to pack up and move at your leisure rather than being escorted out.
A Constitutional Amendment to facilitate the creation of new States from existing ones would be a step in the right direction (e.g. in Maryland, Colorado, CA) ... Let the liberal “city-states” fend for themselves w/o the benefit of our tax dollars.
Of course, this is probably a pipe-dream considering what’s involved, and the fact that the Constitution doesn’t matter to those in control, anyway.
The Texas DOT should declare a shovel-ready jobs project to build a really high sound wall on the southern side of I-10, along all of it across the state.

Suck a w*t o*e. Anybody who doesn’t support secession is a traitor.
Nope, I'm afraid all the states will have to fall, even Texas. A huge purging then maybe (in tiny letters) a resurgence of those who thought ahead.
I suppose a person’s opinion might depend from which side of the Texas border he/she is viewing the subject.
“How about the enemies within? Houston, Austin, etc.?”
I feel that the enemies within will get out of Texas just as fast as their Priuses will take them.
I fear you are right about Texas turning blue. I don’t think there is anywhere to run to ... just hunker down, prepare and pray.
Also if we were not having to cowtow to federal judges, we could put some restrictions on voting rights. If local municipalities wanted to provide some charity to their residents, Texas could pass laws preventing them from being allowed to vote for a certain number of years.
With no free goodies being offered, and no ability to vote if you did accept any public aid, I don't think there would be much to attract the wrong types. You'd know if you moved to Texas, it would mean you have to pull your own weight.
I 'm all for a Convention of the States as Mark Levin is proposing, to rebslance the power back toward the states, and reign in the out of control Federal govt, but our time is short and if the article V convention cant be pushed through, it's good to know there is a possible back up plan .
