Let’s see:

1) Kerry makes bone-headed statement which provides an opening for Syria to avoid “punishment”

2) The Obama mal-Administration immediately distances itself from said bone-headed statement, and Kerry himself begins backpedaling like an unbalanced unicyclist on speed.

3) The Russians exploit Kerry’s bone-headed statement by cynically putting forth a ‘plan’ which exactly mirrors said bone-headed statement.

4) The Obama mal-Administration falls hook, line and sinker for the cynical ploy by the Russians; even going so far as to begin steps towards taking credit for ‘opening the door’ to a diplomatic solution.

By this time tomorrow, the ENTIRE thing will all be part of Obama’s brilliant plan to bring peace to the Middle East.

Of course, when the Syrians fail to “turn over all their chemical weapons to the international community”, Mr. Obama will be right there to remind us that he never really liked the idea in the first place, but that he had no choice but to pursue it since his predecessor, George W. Bush, left behind such a mess.

Good sum-up. You’ll enjoy today’s American Spectator article of Obama as Capt. Queeg. take a look-see.

You nailed it. Right now, we are exactly where we were with Saddam after the Gulf War, except Saddam actually gave us a list of what he had.

And with Syria, our policy yesterday was to support the overthrow of Assad. Today, we must protect Assad to ensure that his chemical weapons are secured by 'international inspectors'. At some point in the very near future, Assad will be arguing how the rebels are preventing him from complying and asking the US to enforce an arms embargo against them.

In my wildest dreams, I cannot come up with a worse statement than the one our Secretary of State made yesterday.
