They were newlyweds, but she was having second thoughts about the 8-day-old marriage, court documents say. The couple drove the short distance from their Kalispell home to Glacier National Park, where they got into an argument. He grabbed her by the arm, but she pulled away and shoved him face-first off a cliff to his death.
Federal prosecutors have given their version of what happened to Cody Lee Johnson, 25, two months after his body was found in an area of the park so steep and rugged that a helicopter had to be used in the recovery.
Jordan Linn Graham, 22, appeared Monday in federal court in Missoula on a second-degree murder charge in Johnson's July 7 death. Her attorney, public defender Andrew Nelson, declined to comment.
Johnson's family and friends had called for an investigation since the body was recovered July 12 below the Loop Trail near the sheer cliff drops of the park's popular Going to the Sun Road.

I’d say that marriage got off to a rocky start.

Complete and utter lack of planning on her part. She should have stolen his cell phone and before meeting him on the loop trail, and impersonating him, texted his best friend, saying that Jordan wanted out of the marriage, and he couldn't deal with it. Right after pushing him off the cliff, she texts the best friend again, impersonating Cody saying he was punching out. Then she waits a minute, calls 911 on her cell, saying, "My husband is threatening to kill himself! Oh my God, Cody! Don't! Help! Help! He just jumped off the cliff!"

If he was holding her arm, why did he then turn his back to her? Either he is stupid, or she is lying.

She already confessed to murder. Her story might get her a manslaughter charge. But without her confession, a conviction of any kind would be difficult.

I ain't buying any of her story. Glacier National Park is beautiful, ergo it is absolutely crawling with tourists. I bet the locals never go there. She obviously lured the guy up there just to push him off. 1st degree all the way, imo.

moral of the story: when you are having an argument with your wife (or husband) do not get in a car and drive out to a cliff to discuss it

It smells funny. Couples don’t leave town together and go out to the woods, climbing to a cliff, to argue.
There was a similar story some years back where a woman mysteriously took a 500 ft tumble from a trail at Zion Park. Her husband’s account of the whole thing didn’t add up.
