I have MSNBC (audio via XM) on and they have not covered this story. By guess they are waiting on word from WH on how to spin it.
Anyone have a guess on how it might be spun?
*********
I have one. Obama was such an effective intimidator that he got the Russians to back down. ...or some such nonsense
WH site has something about rhino horn bootlegging. I am not making this up!
Not Carney or Earnest. WHO is the lamb?
READER COMMENT: So basically every small nation that relies on US aid signed on to military action.

Gee makes you wonder if they were “encouraged” to do so
Would this administration be crazy enough to go ahead with punitive action while Russia was engaged in an effort like this? Insane!
Deputy somethingorother...
He will take a few questions and then the Carney clown is up.
Mark Knoller @markknoller
At WH press briefing, Deputy Natl Security Advisor Tony Blinken says US evidence of Assad regime use of CW’s “beyond a reasonable doubt.”
You know, the more these knuckleheads say that inaction will invite bolder action by Iran, etc..., the more they actually force their hand to actually act boldly.
YEP...there it is...and they said over the week-end they had a diplomatic plan they would present Monday.
Checkmate is right....who would have ever believed Putin would be the Leader in Diplomatic Solutions!
Assad trusts Russia far and above the US....relationships matter to Assad...he has time and again said it’s basically the ‘bullying approach’ of the US that continually gets in the way of diplomatic solutions....and Obama has continually done just that.
Now the ball is in Obamas court....how to save face will be foremost....as it has been all along.
Whoa!, maggief. Thanks for pings. These new developments-— Kerry/Lavrov/Assad -—have thrown the WH into chaos.
Tony Blinken (sp?), Deputy National Security Advisor...is speaking first at the Carney presser.
Carney said he waited for Susan Rice to finish her speech before he started his presser.
As predicted - Blinken says Obama’s threat is what motivated the Russians offer.
Now Blinken is saying Russia/Syria CW offer is due to Obama’s pressure ... with take a hard look at it.

Tony Blinken says he “didn’t speak very artfully” when he said it wasn’t Obama intention to act withiut Congress
Of course and absolutely no surprise. Even Assad said they would do this again to keep the International Community engaged.
Saudi is not going to let this go without reeving up their boy jihadists ....typical tactic and certainly not unexpected....they've been pulling this from the get go. Go after Israel and the world will take note...yet again!
RT @christinawilkie: State Dept." Kerry's Syria statement was "rhetorical and hypothetical." Oops.

Deputy national security adviser Tony Blinken: We would welcome Syria’s Assad giving up chemical weapons in a verifiable manner; track record ‘doesn’t give you a lot of confidence’ - live video

White House giving “hard look” to Russia idea on Syria giving up chem weapons; would be “terrific” if verifiable
....”Obamas gonna pile on more demands, until he gets to the point that Assad cant accept any more”.....
That’s exactly right and why Assad refuses to negotiate with Obama.
I listened to an interview this morning, from 2010 with Assad,.....he said exactly that... for Obama it is never enough even when agreed on diplomacy is determined acceptable to all parties.
My local CBS affiliate tweeted that they have the press briefing on air. Most unusual - though I do not have television.
....”The world looks to Putin as a leader”.....
Better said the International Leaders are looking to Putin....have you noted how many International Leader Conferences are being held in Russia by Putin in the past couple years? ....I didn’t until recently....it’s pretty astounding ..and several of these the US use to sponsor.
