The push by 50 western Virginia counties to secede in 1863, forming West Virginia at the height of the Civil War, was led by a charismatic store-clerk-turned-lawyer who famously urged his supporters: Cut the knot now! Cut it now! Apply the knife.
West Virginia was the last state to break off from another. Now, 150 years later, a 49-year-old information technology consultant wants to apply the knife to Marylands five western counties. The people are the sovereign, says Scott Strzelczyk, leader of the fledgling Western Maryland Initiative, and the western sovereigns are fed up with Annapoliss liberal majority, elected by the states other sovereigns.

I live in the city and have for 40 years! I love Maryland, it is beautiful. Two cars stolen, two house invasions, one mugging , on close escapr from a gang while coming home from Symphony, one friend mirdered.
But I still love it !
LOL!

I understand that completely!
However, in today's philly.com we have a very nice time lapse photography as video on Philly put together by a young photographer. I know nothing about the technicals of photography but I really like what he has done with this "video"
Definitely worth your time for a five minute break...
Posting it directly from his own website...
Enjoy! Not attempting to hijack the thread, so secede on!

Wow! That is so great! Thank you for posting that! I recognized every site, except for the new construction area.
I noticed he included a note at the end: 1 Corinthians 10:31
I read the guy's bio and he clearly states he's "religious" with a Reformed Presby background, so I give him credit for placing the scripture in the credits.
All of his work is very impressive and nothing even questionable/salacious in his posted portfolio.
