Back in the early to mid ‘70’s I lived on that block of Burgundy Street. It was a very, very well to-do neighborhood then. I considered myself very fortunate to have the means to live there in my late teens to early 20’s.

Sad to see the vermin mess the place up. These punk kids must have Northern roots, because NOLA born blacks didn’t behave like that. Oh, how times have changed.

Back in the 70’s southern blacks still had cultural memories of what happened when southern whites got pushed too far.

It still is an upscale neighborhood, but there is no fence around the french quarter to keep people out.
