Why back down?
Convince the world you are going to attack Syria and attack Iran instead.
Everybody, but Russia, wants it, and the case for doing it is so clear that nobody disputes it.
If the US claims it got the Sarin from Iran, Russian can’t counter claim that they didn’t, because the only other place it could have come from is Russia.
Obama then looks like he slow played Putin, and everybody in the world, save Russia and the Norks, is on board with the op.
Too bad Valerie Jarrett is likely working for Iran or this would come off nicely. Huma likely is too.
Back down because I doubt most Americans want ANY war. We are spent, monetarily and psychologically. There is no good reason to be over there.
At this point, attacking Iran is also a World War Three scenerio.
