According to The News Leader, the would-be robber pulled a gun on Jon Lewis Alexander who was working at Beer 30, a liquor store in Marionville, Missouri.

Kind of a shame that the vile worthless thug got a warning

Guarantee he pulls a gun on someone else.

The clerk should not have been armed. Owning a gun doesn’t work. He should have called the police instead; the police are the only ones who should have a gun.
And think of the emotional trauma and loss of self esteem the potential robber will suffer.

He probably cried himself to sleep last night. Or more likely, went home, beat his wife and kicked his dog.
To: RoosterRedux
I would have shot him because he may come back - with friends!

He is in the sad situation he is in; likely due to suffering he endured under policies of Reagan and both Bushes.

What a man.
I love stories with a happy ending.
Now if that would only become more contagious.

You're right - also that right hand might come back up while you're eyeballing him, or he might just shoot from the hip.
In my case, I'm afraid it's all academic - I would have been firing as soon as my muzzle cleared the counter.
This clerk has BIG brass ones, and a cool head.

Imagining the pucker factor involved with having the barrel of a gun practically shoved in his mouth, he probably won't $h!+ for at least a week.

The robber wasn’t wearing a mask. Who knows, he may have been planning on killing the clerk (no witnesses)

Is this real? It looks like bad acting to me.

Who's to say what you are SUPPOSED to look like when an armed robbery occurs?
All I can tell you is, it ain't like in the movies . . .
With the complicating factor that this is a combat veteran, so he doesn't have either the "whoa - this ain't happening" or the "eeek! run in circles and scream" reactions that are possibly more common.

This would have a happy ending if the Marionville Barney Fife Corps could ID the perp and pick him up. Any chance'o'that?
This SOB is apparently still on the loose.
