Alphabet or language and alphabet? In Russian, United States of America is abbreviated by what is essentially SSA (looks like CSA in Cyrillic). Similar to how the Soviets were SSSR (which looked like CCCP). The letter that looks like a "C" in Cyrillic is essentially the letter "s" in English. In Cyrillic, R and S (looks like P and C) are next to each other same as in English. Going by the English words, "United" is further away from "Russia". Соединённые Штаты Америки = USA Россия = Russia
