My son was in Desert Shield/Storm...

But my reference is that of the Jihadists and terrorists....but even as you say....right now there are those who have stated on both sides in Syria and among their military ready and willing for suicide missions against the US and any who come into their line of fire.

I disagree that the idea of dying isn’t formost among the people...they see death as a reward.....no matter how many troops in Iraq surrendered.....Syria is not to be compared...different war...different groups fighting...

RT @freddoso: Dick Durbin says he disagrees w Obama, but voted for the resolution anyway because Obama's heart is always in the right place.

We will just agree to disagree. I have lived a total of nine years in three Muslim countries. They value the lives of their children just as much as we do. Tribalism and a biblical sense of justice coarsens the way they treat their enemies and those who violate their laws and mores.

I don't expect a large number of suicide attacks against us. Militarily, they present no real threat to us. Terrorism is the most likely retaliation against a military strike in Syria. None of the countries in the region want any such attacks to be overtly tied to them.
