Shooting an Archduke was a pretty limited action in 1914.
“Asking” Congress is nothing more than creating a scapegoat.
True, but it’s also called for by the Constitution.
“...This is a big deal, and the President only made the big decision last night against the better judgement of his entire senior staff. ...”
The senior staff of the Dork-O-Dent has no judgement whatsoever...let alone “better” judgement. A greater collection of missfits, felons, and folks who could never hold a job in the real world does not exist.
They fit the wimpoid well.

With the U.S. and Israel on one side, and Russia, China and Iran on the other, what could possibly go wrong? /sarc
You know how Obama is when he gets mad.
Somebody take him golfing PLS!
In other words, he read the polls. And decided to line-up a patsy upon whom he could shift the blame if this thing goes badly.
Not to worry, Congress will set a time-limit to the War.
He probably met with Axelrod and Jarrett, and they concluded that delaying the strike would be politically helpful for the 'Rats 2014 mid-terms and not so much for the Pubbies.
Was that before, during, or after he double-bogeyed the 14th hole?
Does Israel really want us to do this? I would think it would be against their interest?
How long has the President been unilaterally ordering attacks against Syria?
My WAG is that the sneaky Ruskies have two cards up the sleeves. One is a weapon system that will have some effect against the navy surface ships, or one of their smaller airdef systems can actually take tacair out of the game (I think the S-300 large systems are targets if not enough of them deployed). Second and I think this the most logical, the sneaky Ruskies want some crazy mullah Akbar nutter to launch something into Ras Tanura in Saudi, hello oil prices. As for “our” side it is about the petro dollar and the flow of hydrocarbons to the West and not East (thanks Obama for making sure the white people of France has cheaper nattygas)
“Obama Was This Close to Bombing Syria”
Yes, he was...
And then he got the phone call from the NSA that Putin had just ordered his ships in the MEd to “Prepare for a serious confrontation” with the United States, and sh*t his pants....

Funny how no one in the US Media is even daring to talk about this.
They’ll give him 90 days tops..by law...but as we know it doesn’t take 90 days for a fire to ignite out of control...his surgical strike is just the match.
Again, only reason he went to congress was to set them up for war...too many nations have lined up in the waters around Syria..above and below the surface...too many ME nations declaring on one side or the other....
Meanwhile the silence of Russia, for the most part, is deafening....Putin does not ‘have to’ defend Syria militarily according to their agreement...does he have something else in mind while everyone is focused on Syria?????
Israel is testing missiles in the Med indicating they are on board with this reckless nonsense. They will be seen as being a war partner with the U.S. and open to whatever retaliation and/or reactions that invites.
I seriously doubt that Obama and his thugs have considered some of the many consequences an attack could spawn. Things could get out of control quite easily. One miscalculation. That’s all it takes.

*******
Fundamentally, two words (red line) have started this entire, insane exercise. Its quite frightening.
And I think that those sneaky Ruskies have at least one other bit of info that Obama can’t afford to leak out. That is that Assad has tons of gold belonging to European bankers (not all if any really is theirs) who reach to the USA. This gold was probably shipped/delivered to Syria by Libya’s Kadaffi before or during the moments that over 100 cruise missiles were taking him out.
You know how Obama is when he gets mad.

Methinks he’s all wee-weed up.
