I was always taught that the most important safety was the one between your ears and not to trust others as well. the NRA and military trainers had it right.

who said depend... i said they are not designed to and unless it's defective they won't, at least none of mine have in the in the 37 years i've had my permit anyway, nor do i know anybody else that's had one go off, YMMV

i was also trained to treat every gun like it was loaded too even though i know when they aren't, training is fine, but it doesn't mean a safety doesn't work

Clearly the LEO was using a NON-standard holster.

A holster with the trigger guard un-covered.

——The incident occurred on Aug. 24, but was disclosed by police in a news release on Sunday. Lodi is located about 40 miles south of Sacramento. According to police, a SWAT team member was displaying tactical equipment to children at the meeting-——

Gee...what in the world would the purpose of displaying tactical weapons to six to eight year old children.....?

Lodi used to be a stable farm town way back when.

I’d say just about anything can happen there now. It’s become just a slightly northern extension of Stockton now.

My point is folks who blame glocks are no different then the gun banners. They are blaming the gun for a stupid person holding the gun. Or in this case apparently letting a 6 yr old hold it.

A little situational awareness goes a long way. Seriously, the officer should have to go through some additional gun safety training at a minimum.

My guess is that the kid was attempting to pull the gun from the holster.

Texas dry-rub or with tomato based sauces?

Well I’ve only owned my glock for about 15 years but its never gone off by itself. Just goes bang when I want it too.

Perhaps I should watch it closer.

The secret is in the coffee in the marinade and the sauce.

That's not making me feel better about officer firearm retention and situational awareness.
