What with our president having received the Nobel Peace Prize and leading us in a pivot to Asia, I guess the White House wants to pretend that the humiliating debacle America is suffering

Here is how the article ends:

. I’ve resisted making 2014 election predictions, except to acknowledge that the natural midterm political cycle in 2014 favors Republicans. Fourteen months is a lifetime in politics blah blah blah, but the tectonic plates are beginning to shift and the first sign of a wave election could be forming. If the big issues of peace and prosperity are going to matter, what do the Democrats have to say for themselves?

What aspect of the economy instills confidence —never mind enthusiasm —for the future?Where in the world is America stronger as a result of the Obama presidency?Nothing is getting better for the Democrats.

Something’s in order alright, but ‘vote of no confidence’ doesn’t even scratch the surface !

When your leader says, in effect, “Uh-oh, now what do I do?”, you know we've left the road and are in the tall weeds.

Any Republican that votes to declare war on Syria and involve the US in a bloody Mideast conflict must be punished severely.

Welcome to the world of the living, WaPo.

We’ve known YOUR president was a cretin from the beginning.

He is slime, and all but dim-bilb-crats and Obamaphone owners know it.

Yes, it’s simplistic, but IMO, bombing Syria gives 0 a way to pretend he’s a tough guy. This gives Syria their excuse to go after Israel. The US could try to persuade the Israelis to stand down till hell freezes over and the United Nothing could pass resolution after resolution condemning any retaliatory actions but the Israelis will defend themselves anyway and BADA BING!! WWIII.

Yeah, after the inaugural balls and Nobel Prize, it’s all downhill. Oh, he had a little fun with the dictator fog bomb: Mubarak Be Gone, Ghaddafi Be Gone. But inhale too much of that stuff, and you’ll get goofy.

Obama’s options now are to be embarrassed by the Congress or by the Syrians and their invited guests (invited and un).

I will campaign against any Democrat or Republican that endorses the Obama proposed attack on Syria!!! Obama created this mess all by himself, with his failed “Arab Spring” fiasco. I want no USA military action to cover Obama’s butt and get our precious men & women killed or wounded for Obama’s ego!!! Let Obama and his Obamabots go to Syria to rid the world of Assad...and then they can join up with their beloved anti-American brethren in the Obama’s adored Muslim Brotherhood and their worshipped Al Qaeda groups!!! Vote NO!!! and...then impeach Obama!!! Republicans, all of you...get a backbone and spine and do your job representing the folks that sent you to Washington to care of business like this and ridding our nation of the failed Obama “Obamacare”!!!

Typical MSM scum... Everything is viewed in how it effect Sparky and his Demonic Party, rather than how it impacts millions of its citizens. Pathetic.

From the Article ...

Of course Syria should be viciously punished for using chemical weapons, ...

WHY? Who are we to decide who deserves punishment and what that punishment should be?

The UN was obstensibly set up to deal with such matters and they have sent their inspectors to clarify the situation. If and when the inspectors present their findings, the UN can decide what to do. In all likelyhood, the matter would be sent to the ICC which was set up to deal with these things.

The US, being a signatory to the treaty that created the UN, can't decide on it's own whether some random country is violating international law and to take action against that country. That is specifically prohibited under the UN Charter and doing so violates the treaty, which is also the Law of the Land. It is thus unconstitutional for the US to engage in such activities. IOW, Congress does not posess the power to allow the use of force / to declare war in this situation.

Whether we like it or not ....

I was thinking more along the line of IMPEACHMENT, and prison time for clown AND holder.

Right. I'd add a vote of "no confidence" in Obama by electing Republicans isn't exactly a vote of confidence for the Republican Party either.

Not unless those votes also toss out Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and other RINO's up for re-election this year.....

Not as long as John "NO BALLS" Bohener is Speaker of the House.

2014 needs to see a seismic shift in the Republican Party back towards real Conservatives. Any vote of "no confidence" against Obama by electing Republicans means RINO's like Boehner, McConnell etc.. all need to GO also!

Exactly. Is the US now going to "punish" every regime that brutalizes it's citizens? Let's start with North Korea. Move on to China. How about the way the Saudi's treat their women? What about all the rights abuses against white farmers in Zimbabwe? How about the ongoing race war (black vs. white) in South Africa? I could go on.

Any FReepers who've not seen Jim's thread from very early this a.m. (est) should have gander at it.

Wish he'd stuck it in Breaking, etc, or there was a way to pin stuff to the top of the lists for a day or two.

Anyway, my /.02 is here, and it starts here.

Isn't the entire point and mission statement of 0bama, "Hopelessness and Change-for-the-Worse"?

The Kenyan is a Virus attacking the DNA of America. Congress and the Constitution are supposed to be our T-cells, but all we see is the spread of this rogue viral infection.

We need an inoculation.
