One evening in 1974, I didn't, and got robbed/shot. Still carry the .32cal. I CCW my Kimber 1911 .45 everyday, w/ extra mags everyday, since I survived that one.

That's horrible, and a little higher and mid-line it could easily have killed you (e.g. hit the aorta or iliac artery). Out of curiosity, there's no lateral view so I can't tell if the bullet entered from the rear, or from the front - potentially hitting your bladder?
