President Obama apparently is leaving the door open to moving ahead with a military strike on Syria even if Congress votes against it, adding to the confusion over the presidents evolving position.
The president, in a surprise decision Saturday, announced he would seek a vote in Congress on launching a military attack against the Assad regime.
One senior State Department official, though, told Fox News that the presidents goal to take military action will indeed be carried out, regardless of whether Congress votes to approve the use of force.

Ignore this.
The legal consequences of going ahead after congress forbids it will be such that he will not do it.

Oh yeah. That’s got ‘em shaking, Barry.
More like a one sided B*tch Fight.

Congress will vote yes because the Minority Whip will force the issue and Boehner will line up a yes vote on his side because he'll say in exchange, Obama will not fight the debt ceiling issue.
This is, after give years soooo predictable.

Come on. It’s obvious that Obama never wanted to do this and is looking for a way out.

I say let him have his way out, then.
But you know McCain and Boner and Graham won’t let that happen.

Yeah, this is a “finesse”, which actually has some analogy to the bridge maneuver in this case, I think ... kind of.

Correct. He didn’t go hit the phones after the press conference. He went and played golf.
CBS reported:
Shortly after his statement, the president and Vice President Biden headed to Fort Belvoir in Virginia to play golf.

No, they won’t. If the GOP votes for the strike, which risks a wider war, they will lose a substantial amount of their base and they will lose the House.
But maybe you’re right. The GOP does have a death wish. Just look at immigration.

Obama REVELS in rubbing your nose in his lawlessness. He throws the LITERAL finger in meetings with Republicans. When he loses something, he doubles-down. Remember when Scott Brown's win damned Obamacare? He doubled-down and got it rammed through anyways, via Louis Slaughter and her 'Deem and Pass' manuever.
If there is a NO vote on a Syrian strike, he will proceed, and he will DARE anyone to do anything about it. Of course, after the eventual nuclear strikes on America, he won't be ruling over much, but he could really give a shit.

Never underestimate the willingness of the republicans to cast themselves headlong right up Hussein’s rump rather than be described as a mean spirited, confederate lynch mob out to get America’s first mixed race Rodeo Clown president
