Some Questions About Kerry's Syria Speech
NewsMax.com ^

Posted on 08/30/2013 9:36:10 PM PDT by tsowellfan

Why did the Secretary of State, and not the Director of National Intelligence, present the findings of an unclassified memo released today that the Assad regime used chemical weapons on Aug. 21?

An assessment this important should have been rolled out by an objective intelligence agency head and not a partisan Obama official like John Kerry...

It was a variation of his “In the manner of Ghengis Khan” speech before the Fulbright Committee in 1971.

Kerry is using this crisis to appear relevant. He desperately wants to be President and is playing a high stakes game. If somehow this unilateral act of war is a success and Hilary Clinton does not run, this narcissist sees himself as the Democrat nominee. His “outrage” and “passion” would be a bit more believable if he had demonstrated similar feelings when the communists murdered over 500,000 Vietnamese in their reeducation camps after the war.

Obama probably thought it would not be credible to put Clapper (NSA)
up for the task, because Clapper got caught lying to Congress over domestic spying scandal.
Susan Rice? Oh yeah, she lied to the American people, as well.
Victoria Nuland? She is on a leave of absence after she lied to the public too.
Hillary Clinton? She lied through her teeth.

So, I guess Kerry is last hack standing.

John Kerry might be the biggest gas-bag that ever took up space in Washington.

Kerry was thoroughly disingenuous in this speech. For example, he conflates nations with entities which are not nations such as the Arab League. He conflates nations and entities who speak out against the use of chemical weapons with those who are actually willing to do something about it and claims both of them support his eagerness to bomb. Very few nations or entities have announced themselves ready to do anything. He's very clever in his wording but his intention is to deceive the listener.

Say what you will about George Bush and Iraq, there can be no criticism leveled at him that he ever attempted to deceive us. If there were no weapons of mass destruction to be found in Iraq, it was because George Bush was as much deceived as we were. If he had an empty head, he had at least a white heart. Neither Kerry nor Obama can be exonerated on that basis, both essentially are lying.

Worse, Kerry does not tell us what he hopes to achieve beyond discouraging the use of chemical weapons and proving that we mean what we say to Iran. As I said in another post, we have to bomb Syria to convince Iran that we will bomb Iran, why don't we just bomb Iran? He does not tell us how we will achieve this vague and illusory goal of enhancing America's martial credibility.

There is no persuasive connection of the decision to wage war, no matter how limited, in Syria with American vital national interests beyond the possibility that neighbors of Syria might become victims of wayward gas attacks. There is no persuasive reason offered for intervention now and the failure to intervene for the previous hundred thousand Syrians killed except that the international community regards the use of chemical weapons be so terrible that the murder of a couple thousand with gas requires intervention while the murder of 100,000, presumably, did not. There is no discussion of the downside risks and the consequences, both intended and unintended, anticipated and unanticipated.

Here is the man who sabotaged America's effort in Vietnam and helped to facilitate the overrunning of the South by the North. In the wake of that disaster, which might well have been avoided by the application of American air power, hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese were incarcerated, tortured, murdered, and forced into the open sea. The consequences extended to Cambodia were about a third of the population was murdered by the communists. Kerry has never taken responsibility for any of the bloodbath that ensued in the wake of his opposition to the Vietnam War.

Kerry would not bomb then but he wants to bomb now. Somehow I do not think that he believes that test for America to wage war is whether it is in America's national interest. I believe he believes that Americans arms should be at the disposal of his personal morality.

At least that is better than Obama, who thinks American arms should be at the disposal of his narcissism and his communist/Nation of Islam ideology.

Kerry’s speech may have been based upon on a totally fabricated version of what actually took place.

There are even reports suggesting that sarin gas came from NATO backed rebels to frame the Syrian government in order to build support for a NATO invasion. If that is true, we have an effort by the Obama Syndicate to deceive Congress and the American public. That would be an impeachable offense.

I agree with Sarah. Zer0’s complete incompetence will be a disaster for America. Let the Islamic dogs fight it out among themselves in Syria. The best action would be to stay out and save our money by not using our cruise missiles.

We need to keep our eye on the real ball: Iran’s development of nuclear warheads and the missiles to deliver them. Also think Super-EMP nuclear warheads. North Korea has them and so can Iran.

Because this administration cares nothing for this country’s security. This is all political theater for them, blood to sacrifice for his highness’ ego. This is a total sham and they are on the side of terrorism.

I hadn't considered he might think about running again until some Dyke on FOX mentioned how he was so presidential during his speech.

I don’t doubt this was a false flag attempt. I’d have to think that the CIA would do a better job prepping the “proof,”. These guys are acting like its amateur hour.

Because John Kerry is an ass, everyone in this administration is an idiot and no one will dare to question any of them?
