Imagine your son was at the zoo. He looked into the lion's cage and saw a small body laying on the ground inside. He instinctively climbed over the fence to come to the aid of what he thought was the child in danger. Only, it turns out it was simply a doll thrown over the fence by the zoo keepers for the purpose of feeding the lions a meal of hero.

Your son would still be brave and would still be a hero. Your son would still be doing the right thing. The problem is that there are also evil men in this world that would use your son's good instincts and virtues for their own evil purposes.

It is not wrong to point that fact out. It is the only way to get better zoo keepers.

I agree. Intervention in Syria is wrong and illegal as presently constructed.

I resent the implication though, as would anyone serving honorably, that such service to the nation is tainted due to a commander in chief that he did not choose.

We do need better zookeepers. No question about it. I work to help elect them.
