I have several friends (in three different families) who have young sons either enlisted or planning to enlist in the military.

Why?

Why do they enlist? I wish I knew. They just say they don’t care about politics. I try to be tactful, telling them that politics doesn’t care about them either. Except as cannon fodder.

This doesn’t sink in.

Their parents are all conservatives. They know the political leadership is evil. Yet they don’t arrive at the logical conclusions.
