A fifth U.S. warship steamed toward the eastern Mediterranean on Thursday to join four other cruise missile destroyers poised for strikes on Syria, as U.S. and allied military planning continued for a bombing campaign against Syria.
U.S. intelligence agencies, meanwhile, continued to put the finishing touches on an assessment the Obama administration expects will conclusively link Syrian government and military leaders to the deadly nerve agent strike near Damascus Aug. 21.
A defense official said the fifth destroyer, the USS Stout, would soon arrive in waters near Syria. The warship is armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles.
Other officials familiar with intelligence reports said the White House is expected to release its intelligence assessment outlining the case against the Syrian government for the deadly nerve gas attacks near Damascus as early as Friday. The chemical rocket attack used nerve agent that killed up to 1,400 people.

That’s now 5 ships sandwiched between Russian ships on their way and Syria’s anti ship missiles.
When you think about it, might not have been a bad idea leaving 200,000 hungry, well trained and well armed American ground forces in place in afghanistan and Iraq.
Besides, I dunno, PAYING for it? We’re broke, we have no business playing world police while entitlement spending is digging our graves.

Honestly this is the most precarious position America has been in since the Cuban Missile Crisis. I can envision a scenario where Putin will flex his military might against the weak kneed poser Obama and if he orders a submarine to launch cruise missiles against Syria, that Putin could respond by sinking that submarine and then threatening a tactical nuclear strike if the US attempts to retaliate.
Putin knows that Obama is a clueless buffoon who would cower in the corner if backed in there by the Ruskies. And if Obama made a stupid decision after that, then all bets are off.
Perhaps these doomsday prospers aren’t so crazy after all.

That’s because he probably was directing chemical munitions to be delivered to the rebels via Benghazi connections and training them to stage a false flag event as an excuse to take down Syria the same way he took down Libya.
When the intelligence community was seized and overcome by that side, they are continuing their operations unfettered.
We’re fortunate the rest of the world hasn’t caught on and started to attack us at home.

What a stupid waste of resources and manpower. We have no dog in this hunt. Let them kill each other. 100,000 more dead Syrians are 100,000 fewer enemies for Israel to deal with in the future.
