A normal person, black or white would have called the restaurant a few days ahead, to reserve seating for 25 people. You don’t just show up with a crowd and assume, or expect that the place can accommodate you on the spur of a moment.
“A normal person”... stop there.
These people are the professionally offended.
Doesn’t matter what happened, they are the agreived ones and will get their pound of white flesh.
Sucks to be a business owner in America now while there is a professionally offended bunch in charge now.
I had a similar thing happen to me and a bunch of my friends, and we HAD reservations.
It was a medieval-themed bar/restaurant, and we were a Medieval History club. We planned a night out for the club, mostly college students or recent graduates, and showed up in medieval clothing - tunics, long gowns for the girls, capes and so on. We took some kidding from the early crowd of ‘regulars,’ who were drinking at the bar; we were seated, as a group, for supper. We cheerfully bantered back. We had just ordered pre-dinner drinks, and were being served, when the manager came out and asked us to leave. We left, not without complaining; when we got to the home of one of the young ladies, her parents called the restaurant to complain.
We never went back, and we made sure that all our friends knew exactly why. The bar used to get a lot of college kids’ trade. They went out of business soon thereafter.

An NHL team that was stranded due to a mechanical failure showed up unannounced late at night this year. The difference?
They called up beforehand. The resto’ was able to scrounge up food for a party of 20 NHL players and the resto’ got rewarded with free tickets for the playoffs...even if the resto’ was in the opposing team’s city. Class. The moral of the story is that the world does not evolve around you. I bartended in college and this happens on occasions, and not rare.
You do is you possess an entitlement mentality...
