I suspect the black swan event is coming soon. It will start in he Middle East and ricochet through the world's financial markets. By the time it is over, the US Dollar will no longer be the world's reserve currency, and all the things we have gotten away with since the end of World War II will no longer be possible.

After such a hard fall, people will start asking questions as to how these things could have happened. Somewhere along the line, the states will use the Article V mechanism to rein in the federal leviathan.

After an economic crash it’s just as likely that Article V would be used to pass the “Economic Justice Amendment” and give communism the veneer of constitutionality.
