If kids had done something like that when I was young, an adult would have raised welts on the backs of legs and hindparts with a switch, and chased the lot out of there. (Then their parents would have been informed, and likely they'd have been punished worse at home).

Of course, now, that can't be done--even by a parent who would have to face charges of child abuse, the state would take the child(ren), etc.

If the State constrains parental, or even adult involvement in the discipline of children, these are the results people get.
