It must be the antenna pattern then, going west of NYC signal of WOR starts disappearing half way through NJ, while WABC is solid beyond Port Jervis.

We got WOR just fine on the west side of Jugtown Mountain out in western NJ. I get a signal well into PA as well when I am driving west.

I think you are right. In my experience, WNBC/WFAN blows away botu, received WELL into PA. In other anomalies, i have received WBBM 780 Chicago into NJ even though WLS is the "famous" big station.
