Paricutin 1940s in Mexico

Started off in a farmers field, grew to 1,500 feet and destroyed several towns before it finally went extinct.

I read a book about it as a kid and have been fascinated by volcanoes ever since.

After reading the article in National Geographic about Surtsey, my mom helped me write a letter to the team studying it. They sent me a hunk of lava and some cool stamps. Still have them after all these years.

“Ever taken a taxi from Puebla to the Mex City airport?”

Why not just drive? Its a great drive until you get about 10 miles from the airport when the traffic comes to a screeching halt...and you darn well better be in the correct lane at the correct time.
