One of the weapons inspectors said that Iraqi Sarin and tabun had a shelf life of somewhere around 5 years, and that VX lasted a little longer, and botulinum toxin and liquid anthrax only last roughly 3 years. If you want to stand down wind, we can try a few out and you can report back. While it may not be as potent, it's still dangerous.

The US govt produced all of “our” VX here in Indiana back in the 60s.
The folks seemed to think it was still mighty dangerous when they were disposing of it 40 yrs later.

I read a lot of sites regarding the shelf life of that stuff. It has little value once it’s passed its shelf life. No, I wouldn’t want to stand downwind if you released it. But I wouldn’t want to walk a six foot wide plank for 50 feet, 1000 feet off the ground either, even though it’s probably perfectly safe.
