I find the choice of ‘Asia’ to be an interesting one.

But the choice of name to me is a microcosm of the conflict one may feel in trying not to reject one’s own race and yet having reason to feel ambivalent, at best, about the associated culture.

That gives me an idea.

I think I will change my son's name to Keshawn. I/we have a very common last name similar to many African American sport players.

My(Caucasian) son keeps a straight A average in high school. Maybe he could get a free ride into Berkley, Harvard or MIT.
