Despite the lack of any authority to do so, the EPA is already moving forward with its controversial and unconstitutional efforts to foist economy-destroying regulations on the American people under the guise of saving the “climate.”

Sounds like Congress should cut their funding. They can't get up to mischief if they don't have any money. Just keep voting funding down until the EPA stops playing politics.

King Canute gets a bad rap. He didn’t command the tide to turn in the slightest expectation that it would obey his order. He did it to shame and rebuke an especially obsequious arse-licking courtier who was beginning to grate on the king and his court at Southampton.

Apparently this fellow’s preposterous flattery grew to include claims that the King could tame the ocean by his royal command, and Canute apparently rolled his eyes and said, “Is that so? Well, let’s all just go down to the seaside right now and see if you’re right.” Maybe he was the guy in your picture who lies over the King’s right shoulder, looking rather dog-faced.

When the English Channel wet his robes in violation of his command, he leapt up, and announced, “Let all men know how empty and worthless is the power of kings, for there is none worthy of the name, but He whom heaven, earth, and sea obey by eternal laws.”

I wish the arrogant idiot Obama had the same sense of the limitations of his power and the undesirability of bootlicking yes-men.
