Because we had no video games, the kids spent all their time outdoors with friends and pick-up games of various sports. I don’t regret keeping the games out of the house one bit. My son bought his own xbox at 18, took it to college, and sold it after only two years. I was very impressed with that decision.

To each his own.

Good for your son and a tribute to you as parents.

My grandson wants an iPad and iPhone. His parents said he could when he was able to pay for it himself so he came to me to intercede. Told him the same thing. The grandson is only over here one day once in a while. His life is very hectic and crammed full with school, lots of homework, Boy Scouts, track, bicycling and volunteer work so the few hours of quiet time by himself is something he really looks forward to.
