I grew up in the deep South and have a lot of sympathy for the unlucky people imprisoned in the ghettos. My folks would drive thru those horrible places on Easter Sunday and laugh at their garish clothing. My childhood memories are scarred by that bit of racism.
Look, there's bad behavior on both sides. Who knows if we whites might develop the same lifelong resentment and bitterness if we were in their skin. I do know Jesus said to "visit the prisons."
Maybe each white church should adopt a black family and nurture it along, teaching the kids to read, helping them with job skills, being role models, etc. Gotta start somewhere.
Ah, anything along those lines, an outreach in the name of our Lord, would help.
I try to be as heavenly as I can towards the sourest people of any color that I meet (though that doesn’t mean being complacent towards clearly spiritually destructive behavior... I will boldly challenge cursing, or drinking oneself to death, for example, telling them if I can that God deserves better). This almost looks “liberal” except that it’s rooted squarely in God’s exaltation. This is the key element that dropped out of the liberal picture and turned it into the worldly mess it is now.
