I can't wait to go back..in fact, I'm thinking of moving there. having lived in the finger lakes region all my life - I would advise you to think otherwise - property taxes are grossly above the national average, schools for the most part are poor (excepting wealthy enclaves). Scenery is good - food is great, weather is great 8 mos of the year and hunting is exceptional - that said - gun rights blow, salt eats your car and winter is far too long and cold

We are down sizing..so taxes won't be such a bite in the butt...they kids are grown. As far as the snow..we are from Indiana..need I say more? I loved being able to take a trip into the city and see the crazy people acting a fool for attention. Never had that much fun in any other city..ever. We laughed our fool heads off. I loved it.
