I live in Memphis! Only a couple of the previous posters live within 15 miles of downtown. Yes, we have a few bad areas like any other town, but on a whole this is a great, safe town.
Never be in the downtown district past sunset. Never stop at an ATM. Never look at your phone while in a public place, keep your head on a swivel. Never attend any event which is for "Free". (Like the zoo shootings) If you venture into Overton Park, take your dog and a weapon. Nothing good happens after midnight. Private schools for the kids.

Do you happen to know where this “ MLK Blvd.” is located in Memphis? Unless they’ve done it recently, there is no such street in Memphis
